As a rock climber myself I was particularly inspired by this image. We are all capable of so much yet in general people seem so bent on finding flaws with themselves.

Nespresso Project

I have always held that the skills gained from my background in the creative fields of art and music are invaluable to my work as a UX designer. However it is rare that I get to do a project that so closely overlaps between the two areas.

I was called in to work on a project by a close friend of mine who is doing a course in product design. She had just won first place in a competition to design a feature to enhance the experience of drinking coffee. Her idea was to engage all of the senses and introduce a ‘flavour soundtrack’ or musical interpretation of the flavour profiles of Nespresso’s grand crus.

Stupid and lazy

(Is it that you can’t do it or perhaps you don’t want to do the work?)

When I was in college, I took a ton of advanced math courses, three or four of them, until one day I hit the wall. Too many dimensions, transformations and toroids for me to keep in my head. I was too stupid to do really hard math so I stopped.
